What are the benefits of a Crusade/Festival?
- Evangelism: The ultimate purpose of a Crusade or Festival is to see people place their faith in Christ.
- Training: DMEA personnel teach the "Christian Life and Witness Course" that is intended to strengthen believers in their faith, teach them to evangelize and counsel at the Crusade. In addition, DMEA teaches a follow-up/discipleship Seminar to pastors and church leaders to help prepare them for handling new believers.
- Mobilization: Operation Andrew is intended to mobilize Christians in "friendship" evangelism. It instructs them to: Identify those in their life who need Christ, pray for them, befriend them, share their testimony with them, invite and bring them to the Crusade. This program is a key to a Crusade or Festival's success.
- Foster unity among believers: A Crusade/Festival is not intended to abolish doctrinal distinctions, but rather lower the barriers just enough to join hands for the purpose of evangelism.
- Prayer: A Crusade/Festival makes your city the focal point of thousands of Christians prayers around the world.
Who Heads up the Crusade/Festival?
An Executive Team is established comprised of Christians in that area. They carry the vision and execute all the functions for the Crusade. The DMEA supplies the local leadership with the oversight, experience and organization necessary to ensure the smooth operations of the Crusade preparation process.
How is a Crusade or Festival Financed?
All the money required to finance an area-wide Crusade is raise locally and most of it is spent locally as well. A Finance team is assembled and trained to head up this important task. At the close of the Crusade, an audit is done of the financial records and published in a newspaper. In addition, the evangelist receives no salary from the Crusade.
How much does a Crusade/Festival Cost?
Anything done for the Lord is worth doing well. And anything done well will have some costs involved. Crusades are no exception. They can be a costly endeavor. Under most circumstances, however, the cost per person in attendance can average between the cost of going to a movie and going to a concert. When put in those terms, it is a relatively low cost for the potential impact that a Crusade can have on an area.
